FAMILY GLASSPAINTING WEEKENDS
May 11&12, 2013, (Mother’s Day), Readsboro VT
June 15&16, 2013, (Father’s Day), Readsboro VT
These workshops provide an opportunity for family members (parents, grandparent and children perhaps, or partners of any age) to enjoy quality creative time making stained glass portraits of each other. Surrounded by decorative painted borders, the portraits fit into wood frames for permanent display as family heirlooms.

People who “can't paint” are especially welcome because the process involves drawing over photographs and exploring patterns and textures. Using methods largely unchanged since Medieval times, colored glass is painted and then kiln-fired in several stages.

Glasspainting is a lovely medium to work with and can be very expressive in the hands of young children and beginners. The border areas allow individual expression and the opportunity to add imagery, text, and different colors to the portraits.

Family workshops take place on weekends over two consecutive days. Class meets from 2-4pm on the Saturday afternoon and from 11am – 4pm on the Sunday. Lunch is from 1-2pm. A healthy family-style meal is provided.

Fee $220 per couple includes lunch, materials and 2 wood frames.
Maximum three couples per workshop, lower age limit is 8.
